Hi!
My name is Terese and i´m a 18 year old girl from Sweden. I´m writing an essay about the mayan calendar and the potential doomsday the 21th December, 2012. My intention with the essay is to find out what psychological needs that is satisfied by the belief that the world will end, or be affected by natural disasters, in 2012.
My wish is now to interview at least four people who believe that the world will end, or be affected by natural disasters, in 2012. My questions will be about what you believe in and how you look at your belief. Your answers will be used in my essay, and nowhere else. I will be very grateful to thoose who will help me acheive my purpose!
If you are intrested, or wants to know more, send my a private message or answer this post.

Dear Terese, For as many people that frequent this website, there don't seem to be a lot of replies to peoples' posts. So I don't know how many responses you will get on this site, but I would like to help you out if I can. You should know, however, that I am either a complete lunatic or I am some kind of prophesied biblical figure. I say this because a couple years ago I was very agnostic, but then these signs started popping up in my life. After several months trying to learn how to interpret these signs, it became apparent to me that I was guided by a spirit which eventually taught me about the water-like properties of matter and how particle physicists are currently conducting experiments to reverse engineer the fabric of our existence. I actually wrote a book about my beliefs. So if you are interested, please visit www.plusone4theheroes.org. You might be better off to read the book before asking questions – so as to save me from writing another book LOL! You should know, however, that I do not believe the world will end in 2012, nor do I put much stock in natural disasters. I believe they play a role in these end-times, just as the Mayans do. But for as much as we worry about super volcanoes and planets crashing into Earth, we all seem to forget that we were already told about the end-time events in our scriptures. I posted a thread under “The Bible and 2012” titled, “This is what the Bible warns us of...” which explains who the anti-messiah is and exactly how he will soon rise to power. I'm sure you will find that the description matches extremely well what we were told of this figure in both the Bible and the Qur'an. The point to this is that because the prophesied 7 year peace treaty with Israel has not yet begun, we still have several more years to go. The year 2012 is important, though, because this is the year in which humanity must prove ourselves worthy of continuing our existence, or face our eventual destruction. So while some believe the Mayan calender predicts the end of the world and others believe it predicts a new beginning, it really just marks this crossroad we now face. One road we can take is to follow the Islamic prophecy of Imam al-Mahdi, which means we begin living by Jesus' message of love and forgiveness for our enemies. We mature into societies which can end wars by showing our aggressors that we are not their enemy, and like hundreds of millions of cells making up a larger body, humanity then becomes the Prophet Isa, or the Body of Christ which is prophesied to destroy the antichrist before he reaches Jerusalem. On the other hand, we can ignore this warning and keep doing exactly what we're doing (preaching Jesus' message instead of living it), in which case I go the way of Elijah, who is extremely disliked, decries the antichrist for 1260 days, and finally (along with a second witness) is killed by the antichrist on the streets of Jerusalem. In case you cannot tell by my user name, I've just about given up hope that we can actually fix this world. I finished writing the book back in October and so far, I cannot get anyone to read it, let alone actually agree with what I have to say. I've been ignored, insulted and even accused of blasphemy. It seems the only way anyone will ever believe me is when history proves me correct about the antichrist, but by then it will be too late. I'm sure there are plenty of people who just assume that I am looking for special treatment, and I understand that. Some days I can't help but think that I must be nuts for believing in all of this. So when I ask the question, “Why me?” out of the seven billion people in the world; why would God entrust me with this responsibility? - the best answer I can come up with is because for as hellish as the prophecy of Elijah is, I consider it an honor to serve the Lord in this way. Like I said, maybe I'm a complete lunatic who has completely lost touch with reality. Or maybe all these difficulties are normal for someone born for the purpose of serving God. I dunno. I just try to do the right thing – right by God and right by my fellow man (or woman). I can't prove anything and I can only claim to know what I believe, and I believe God proved Himself to me. What you believe is up to you, but hopefully this gives you a little better insight into the mind of a believer. Again, I'd be happy to answer any questions you have, but I would suggest checking out the book first. Please understand, though, that the book was not written to cater to any specific religion or political views. The book was written with the intent of making points that everyone can agree with, regardless of our beliefs, but this also means that none of us will agree with every point made. The point of the book is to show us that right and wrong is nothing more than perspective. “Truth”, on the other hand, is the understanding that we are all right. We can only understand this, though, when we see that we are all wrong as well. That's why we are here – because in heaven we are not born with the wisdom of understanding that when we are all right, we must trust God's right before our own. I could go into a whole Adam and Eve correlation here, but I'm rambling as it is. And like I said, it's in the book. I'll close out here, though, by letting you know that I actually visited the Mayan Temple, Chichen Itza several months ago. We had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable, so I can give you some insight there too if you'd like. Otherwise, make what you want of this posting. I know it's pretty crazy, but this is what I believe. Besides, I'm not really trying to change what anyone else believes. I just want to help people to figure out what they believe. I want to help people TO BELIEVE. It just so happens that I believe God showed me the “truth” for exactly this purpose. I then tried my best not to f*** it up with my own human imperfections. Anyways, I hope this helps. Feel free to ask me anything, and who knows, maybe this thread will do some good to help others too. Peace be upon you. Sincerely, Joel | |
