End Of The World 2012?

Hi all, I am a newbie here so please be gentle...lol. After reading a lot about the possibilities of 21/12/2012 I would like to pose another possible theory, not mine by the way, but by the brilliant author Arthur C Clarke.

In his book 2010, he mentioned the possibility of Jupiter turning into a sun, and considering some of the posts I have read on other forums about magnetic waves eminating from Jupiter currently, I instantly remembered that book.

Im pretty sure this won't happen, but what if it did??

Could Jupiter be influencing the current freak storms, earthquakes etc that we are experiencing around the world.

Well its is a gas giant, not sure if its flammable enough to spark itself into becoming a sun that I have no clue about, The storms, eartquakes, mudslides and tsumanis are warning signs no doubt.
