Pole Shift

Posted by End Of The World 2012 on October 31, 2009 at 12:06 AM

Well, after the site being live for just on a year, I've finally done my first blog.  This is actually a response to a question from the Polish magazine "Magia Gwiazd" who asked me to share my personal thoughts on what I thought had the greatest posibility of happening in 2012 and in particular the idea of a pole shift.  I have no idea whether they will print all this or just extract a few quotes.

It was interesting getting a request to comment on a pole shift from a Polish magazine.

I am thankful to Chris White who's article on NIBIRU has helped me chrystalise my thinking on this matter.  Thanks Chris

Will the world end on December 21, 2012?  Personally I think that the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte was right.  He is quoted as saying, “man willbelieve anything as long as it is not written in the Bible.”   Thiscan be applied to all the recent theories that the world will end in2012.  People will believe anything.  This is often because of one totwo reasons (1) they give far too much importance to the history channel andother pop media and (2) they give far too little time to actually thinkingabout what is being said.

Anexample is with the belief that there will be a pole shift in 2012.  Forstarters, there is no agreement on whether this would be a magnetic pole shift,or a physical shifting of the crust of the earth that would swap the poles around. So that casts a lot of doubt on it happening in the first place. Secondly, it is important to realize that neither of these things could happen without a cause.  You cannot have an effect without a cause.  So we need to ask, what possible causes are being given for a possible pole shift?  These are often given as being one (or more perhaps) of the following: planetary alignment, Planet X or Nibiru, a tremendous sun flare or an asteroid.

Let’s start with the asteroid.  The biggest threat NASA have identified is anasteroid named Apophis.  However it is currently on a Level 0 on theTorino Scale.  It will pass close in 2029 with a probability for impact onApril 13, 2036 calculated at 1 in 45,000.

What about a sun flare?  It is a known fact that the sun has an 11 cycle andthat towards the end of this we can expect to see increased solar activity.  However, those who study this phenomena say that regardless of the type of flare (and apparently there is more than one kind) nothing will bepowerful enough to overcome our magnetosphere, ionosphere and thick atmosphere.

Willplanetary alignment cause a pole shift?  We will never know for sure because there is not going to be a planetary alignment on December 21,2012!  The movements and positions of the planets in relation to eachother are clearly observable not just by NASA but other scientificbodies.  No reputable body who regularly observes these has announced that we should expect an alignment of the planets in our solar system.  There will however be an alignment of the sun with the earth and the centre of the milkyway galaxy BUT, this is not a physical alignment – it is only anillusion.

Because the earth tilts on its axis there are certain times in its cycle that there appears to be an alignment but this is only from the earth’s perspective.   The alignment is an illusion.  One of the people putting forth the 2012 scenario says on one of his websites, “In the interest of clarity, I will mention that it would be more accurate to say that the alignment occurs in the ERA of A.D. 2012; because precession is such a slow phenomenon, fifty years on either side of 2012 might be appropriate.”  byJohn Major Jenkins

Thisleave us with Planet X – Nibiru.  You don’t need to get very technical toprove that planet X is NOT going to be visiting us any time soon, especially December 21, 2012.  This planet is believed to have an orbit thatintersects with our solar system every 3,600 years.  However if it is going to keep this appointment in the next 10 years, it would have to be less than a billion kilometers away right now.  That's very interesting because Pluto is about 5 billion kilometers away and yet we can see it.  And by all accounts, Planet X – Nibiru, is many times larger than Pluto.  So how is it that we can see a planet smaller than Planet X and further out than Planet X (would have to be right now), but we cannot see Planet X !

To rephrase that, if we can see the much smaller Pluto at 5 billion km, why can we not see the much larger Planet X which would have to be around 1 billion km away?

Furthermore, if we cannot see it with the likes of the Hubble telescope then how could the ancient Sumerians have seen it?  This is an important question to ask since the recent talk about Nibiru can be traced back to Zechariah Sitchen’s translation of certain ancient Sumerian texts.  Also worth noting is that he mistranslates the symbols on these writings. This is spoken of in detail on the page: NIBIRU on this site in an article by Chris White.

In conclusion, I think planet X should be renamed planet Z.  “Z” for Zero chance of ever turning up in the backyard of our solar system.

Having said all this, there is one thing we can be sure of: the world still will come to an end one day.  This is clearly predicted in the Bible.

As an example of the Bible’s reliability, it contains around 300 prophecies about Jesus Christ, all of which were fulfilled – in detail.   The probability that Jesus of Nazareth could have fulfilled even eight such prophecies would be only 1 in 10(to the power of 17).

That's1 in 100, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000.  And that’s only for 8 of the 300 prophecies that were fulfilled.

When it comes to end of the world events, the Bible is a reliable source of information.  For more information, see 2012 Bible Prophecy

However, we are still left  with one problem as stated by Napoleon, “Man will believe anything unless it is  written in the Bible”.  This will result in the eternal damnation of many.   Not a good note to end on but it’s all there in the Bible.

We have been warned.  But it is a warning with hope.  Repentance and faith in Jesus who died for sin and rose again, will save one from the day of judgement.  A day that will happen after God pours out his wrath on the earth in proportions at least as bad as the 2012 scenario - generally speaking

On this final day of judgement all the dead will be raised and great and small will come before the throne of God whereupon he will pronounce their final destiny.

Interestingly enough, this is spoken of in Revelation 20:12 !

Revelation means Apocalypse

I am concerned about the recent wave of major earthquakes in such a short time. From the quake offshore of northern cali to Haiti to the chilean quake and now Japan....I realize major quakes happen every so often but these seem to be stronger and ocurring more quickly together...it seems like revelation is now unfolding before our eyes. I wonder if anyone else has thought of this?

I agree with the below comment. My father brought a article to my attention about how the Jews are building the last temple and that it was said that they wouldnt used rocks or thier hands to build it (which shows our advanced technology....lazer technology) The Mayans were such a intellegent culture and even thier predicitons are comming along with God's revolation. Im having a difficult time not being frightened recently, thats probably just my human side. Plus, I want to see my son grow up, have a job, fall in love, enjoy what beauty there is still left in the world...Im just frightened of what is yet to come I guess

The comments you've expressed here are similar to many that others have shared, especially wondering if this is actually the fulfilling of end time events spoken of in Revelation, and also of wanting to enjoy certain precious moments in life before it all comes to an end.

First of all, let me say that if you are right with God [check out the "Good People Only" page to see if you are] then you have nothing to fear.

Secondly, there is still much more to happen before the end comes [see "Signs of the times" page]. And while the Mayans were quite up with it as far as the stars and the cosmos were concerned, they could not see their own demise. They also do not believe modern day predictions that connect their long count calendar with an end of the world scenario in 2012 [see the page "Mayan Calendar 2012"].

If you haven't had a look at it yet, check out the 2012 FAQ page as this is designed to give short easy to understand answers to some of the big questions about 2012. Thanks for your comments.
