End Of The World 2012?

Discover the truth!

2012 Blog

Over 127,000 Visits in 30 days!

Posted by End Of The World 2012 on December 10, 2009 at 10:26 PM

This site went live around November 2008.  There was a time when I was excited becasue it had 50 visits in a day.  Then one day visits shot up to over 90!  I ran and got my wife to show her this remarkable news.   Who would have thought (not me at the time) that just on a year later on November 13, 2009, that we would have exceeded 100,000 visits in just 30 days!!!!

This amazing result was from the 2012 movie project we launched inviting all members to pass the website onto as many people as they knew and to leave comments and links about it as they surfed the net on other websites.  You guys are amazing.  Thank You.  :)

Now that the movie has arrived, some of the interest has dropped off but we are still getting heaps of visits and what is more important, people are staying longer and looking at more pages.   There are new pages planned and we will notify members when they arrive.

One of the things we would like to see happen a bit more is for people to use the 2012 Forum.  This is an opportunity to have your say, even if you don't agree with something that you read on the site.  As long as you're respectful your forum post will be welcome.

Good Site, except for the part about Jesus. That part you got all wrong. A God who is love would not have His son killed as a Blood Sacrifice, Jesus was a teacher for us, the way to be in a loving relationship with God.

I am working on a book about the insanity of religious conflict. I would like to invite you into a partnership to achieve this goal. Normally, my beliefs are very personal and private, yet, now I feel guided by my "Inner Voice" to write this book. However, I need help, since I am too close to what I have written. I can not objectively judge how effectively it communicates, and question the reasoning behind my statements. Below in a nutshell, is one of the themes which is representative of how I approach this book. As you will see, to the extent I could, I try to weave quotes from the scripture of the three western religions most in conflict to make my points. I would appreciate any help you would be willing to give me. Thank you.
============================
-- Jesus was the name of a man who lived two thousand years ago. However, was Jesus more then just a man? Was Jesus only a man who was a rabbi, or a teacher of ethics, as Jews believe? Was Jesus God's prophet, as Moslems believe? Or was Jesus God incarnate Himself, as Christians believe? Well, there has been religious conflict and people have been fighting about that for those two thousand years. Fighting, but never respecting, because they never listened to what Jesus had said, and maybe that is understandable.

After all, if somebody went around today talking about God, and saying respected religious leaders did not know what they were talking about, while hanging around prostitutes and other unsavory characters, we might dismiss him as a madman.

But yet, we might be troubled, after all this man Jesus had a great reputation as a healer, and many people said they saw Jesus do some miraculous things. We might be curious and go hear what this man Jesus said when he came to our town.

Jesus' message was simple. God is our father, who loves us. We in return should love our father God, by respecting the wonderful gifts that our father God gave us. This Earth was God's great gift to us; and it is our responsibility to thank Him, by caring and protecting it.

Made sense, but what Jesus said next, we were not sure if we agreed.
Jesus said, it was not important what our religion taught us, it's rituals, ceremonies, rules, and sacrifices. What was important was that we realize that we are a family, and if we love our brothers and sisters, our father God will be pleased. Whatever else we think we have to do to please our father God, is only secondary, what is of primary importance is that we respect and love our family: God our Father, and all of His children. No gift we give our Father will please Him more then manifesting here on earth, the Kingdom of our father, God, by loving each of our brothers and sisters without exception.

"But if ye had known what this meaneth, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless." (Matthew 12:7) "to love God with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is much more than all whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices." (Mark 12:33) "And he (Jesus) said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40) "neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21) "Jesus said: If those who lead you say to you: See, the kingdom is in heaven, then the birds of the heaven will go before you; if they say to you: It is in the sea, then the fish will go before you. But the kingdom is within you, and it is outside of you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will know that you are the sons of the living Father. " (non-canonical Gospel of Thomas 113)

But my brothers and sisters did me wrong, we said.

Jesus smiled, and said: Forgive them, as I will ask our Father God, to forgive you. For by not knowing and acting in love, they have only hurt themselves.

"And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)
"Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children." (Luke 23:28)

We may disagree on who or what Jesus was, but one thing is certain. Jesus was the wisest man who ever lived, and the best brother we could ever have. --
