A.  Mayan Calendar 2012 Prophecy

What you need to understand about this is that...

(1) There is no prophecy. Even the Mayan’s don’t believe there is one.

(2) It’s just a calendar.

Here are some more FACTS that may help.  We have a 12 month calendar. The Mayans had a 5,125 year “long count” calendar. Our calendar ends on December 31. The Mayan’s long count calendar ends on December 21, 2012 (some think it may actually be Dec. 23).

When our calendar ends, we put up a new one. When the Mayan long count Calendar ends, they start a new one.  That's what you do when your calendar comes to an end.  People who say that when the Mayan calendar ends the world will end, are lying. There is nothing in the Mayan calendar to suggest that they prophesied a sudden or major change of any sort in 2012.

The idea there will be massive worldwide disasters when this long count calendar comes to an end is completely a modern invention. The fact is that in some of the Mayan writings, they spoke of how in the year 4772 AD people would be celebrating the anniversary of the coronation of their great king Pakal. 4772 is a long way after 2012.  

All you need to remember is that there is no prophecy and, it's just a calendar!

This is when the sun is in position between the earth and the middle of the milky way galaxy (the milky was is the galaxy we are part of). Some think that when the sun lines up in this way, it will cause major problems in our solar system.

What many people don’t know is that the sun reaches this position every year around the same time, the time of the winter solstice (when winter ends and summer starts). This event creates NO changes in gravitational pull, solar radiation, planetary orbits, or anything else that would impact life on Earth. It also will NOT, as some believe, bring about a change in the so-called evolution of humanity so that we transform into a higher form of existence.  The people who suggest this are lacking in intelligence because they are acting on wrong information about our galaxy. 

Nor will it bring about a change in our consciousness.   It will most likely bring about great relief when, finally, the 2012 storytellers wake up on the first morning of 2013 with egg on their faces and realise that is has all been a tragic mistake.

HELLO! The position of a large ball of gas 93 million miles away (the sun) is not going to affect our evolution (note: this site does not believe we evolved - evolution is a lie) or our consciousness.  We are not going to become more (or less) developed because a ball of gas in the sky changes position (like it does every year). 

It’s just a sun!  Get over it, please.

(1) One belief here is that the magnetic poles will suddenly change so that north becomes south and south becomes north. While there will be no sudden pole shift, apparently slow pole shifts do happen but they don’t cause any problems. Scientists from NASA say we are in the middle of a pole shift now but it will take thousands of years. The biggest effect will be that we will have to change our compasses in a few 100 years. At that time, our planets magnetic field around the earth will still be here and it will still protect us from solar storms from the sun.

(2) Another pole shift theory is that the earth’s surface will rotate around the core of the earth like an orange peel sliding around over the inner flesh of the orange.  Please note that the scientists who suggest this might be possible, say that if it did happen, it would take millions of years!!! 

The reasons given for a pole shift are ....

- Planetary Alignment. This is different to Galactic Alignment ALL the planets in our system will never align. Their orbiting cycles around the sun will not allow this to happen. Occasionally some of the planets will get into an uneven sort of line but this never has and never will cause catastrophes on earth. In 2000, Mars, Saturn, Mercury and Venus were within 50 degrees of each other. In June 13, 2010 Uranus, Jupiter and Mercury will be on one side of the sun and Venus, Mars, and Saturn on the other side of the sun. It will be no big deal. The idea that some kind of planetary alignment will cause disasters on the earth is simply bad astronomy (astronomy is the study of the stars).

- Planet X or Nibiru and its comets tail. But this planet doesn’t exist or we would be able to see it now. This planet is supposed to be about 5 times bigger than Pluto. We can see Pluto but we can’t see this planet!!! That’s because it doesn’t exist. If it was going to reach earth by 2012 then it would need to be clearly visible on the edge of our solar system now but it is not. Planet X is a myth.

- A tremendous sun flare. Solar flares (large burst of gas from the sun) happen all the time.  Every 11 years the sun seems to have a bigger burst.  2012 is the end of the next 11 cycle.  However, NASA scientists have said recently that it looks like the next cycle will complete in 13 years, not 11.  So that makes it 2014, not 2012.  The important thing to understand is  that the worst things that happen from sun flares are that there may be some electrical blackouts (the biggest ever was in Canada in 1989) and loss of radio and satellite communication.  These solar flares are also the cause behind the beautiful northern lights (aurora).

- An asteroid. The biggest asteroid spotted in recent times is named Apophis. However it is not coming on an end of the world December 21 2012 doomsday and is currently on a Level 0 on the Torino Scale (this scale shows the probability of an asteroid hitting earth). It will pass close in 2029 with a probability for impact on April 13, 2036 calculated at 1 in 45,000. So it will most certainly not be here in 2012 and the chances of it hitting us are extremely unlikely. 

Please understand that there will be no sudden pole shift on any kind in 2012!
